Doha British School is celebrating 20 years of excellence this year.
Established in 1997, Doha British School (DBS) is an independent international school dedicated to the educational attainment and life chances of all learners. With nearly 1800 students (with just under 700 students in the Secondary School), our student body comprises more than 80 different nationalities, the largest representation are British. In 2014 we have opened another branch in Al Wakrah that caters students from Pre-school through Year 9.
DBS is a welcoming vibrant international school that provides a first class education. We offer (I) GCSE in years 10 and 11, AS Levels in year 12 and offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme in years 12 and 13. We are fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), British Schools Overseas (BSO), British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) and were the first international school in Qatar to have received the Qatar National Schools Association (QNSA) accreditation emphasizing our commitment to the 2030 vision of Qatar.
We believe that education should provide a love of learning, a sense of responsibility and a sense of wonder. Our highly qualified staff provide lessons which are engaging, challenging and creative; totally dedicated to the learners. We are determined to ensure that our learners enjoy life at the school, appreciate other cultures and societies so that they develop an understanding of the interconnectedness of the globalised world in which they live. Our learners must be resourceful, reflective, responsible and respectful. We develop these characteristics in order to ensure that our learners can meet all of life’s challenges and can develop into well-rounded adults. Every child is unique and we endeavour to create opportunities for each child to achieve their full potential in the areas of creativity, sport, talent and leadership.
Our school is the ideal choice for families seeking a British curriculum that includes an international dimension.
